The final csma Event of 2007, and a band of 21 racers braved the late date and risked the potential for cold and wet weather. They were all rewarded with fabulous sunshine throughout the day.

The slightly smaller than normal field didn't detract from the close and hard faught racing. There were some great battles throughout the day and some of the most exciting raceing we've had all year.

The morning B Final was a bit of a family affair with Gary D, Mark F and Mark D taking the podium places. However, the A final started where the qualification race off with Tony H, Terry and Alan W tustling (robustly in Terry's case!) and swapping the lead.

However, it was Tony that eventually took honours and a little revenge for the qualification race in which he had a great battle with Terry. Alan W followed closely behind (and was again quicker than Drew throughout the day) and took a well deserved 3rd.

The enduro was another close and tense affair with a great ending. The team balances worked really well, with many teams in with a shout at the podium. Dave came home in 1st, helped just a little by one of the Rye House staff as a team-mate and accusations of one less stop than everyone else (!!! - still a great effort as he pulled off a continuous stint of over an hour!). Second were Tony H & Dave. However, the real excitement came up next as over the last 6-7 laps Nick, in 4th, had been catching up 3rd placed Julian. It all went down to the very last corner of the very last lap where a lunge up the inside saw Mark & Nick promoted to 3rd place and leaving Julian & Alan W in a very close 4th.

So all that was left was to award the tropies and to look forward to 2008 and another great year of fantastic value karting with the csma Karting Group.

Our first event of 2008 will be and indoor karting event in Strethem, London on the 21st January. Starting 2pm and going on until 7pm with plenty of track action on offer. More info to follow!
